Modern Slavery Statement

Our Commitment

Harley Street Pathology Services is committed to conducting its business responsibly, ethically and with respect for human rights.

We have zero tolerance for modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, servitude or exploitation. We recognise our responsibility to identify and address these risks within our organisation and the supply chains that support our laboratory services.

We expect our colleagues, suppliers, contractors and other business partners to share these standards and to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Our Approach

We aim to conduct our business with integrity, transparency and respect for people. We are committed to treating our colleagues fairly and with dignity, and to maintaining a working environment where concerns can be raised appropriately.

As a medical laboratory, our supply chain includes laboratory equipment, reagents, consumables, professional services, facilities, technology and other goods and services needed to operate our laboratory. We recognise that modern slavery risks can exist within complex supply chains and consider these risks when selecting and working with suppliers.

Where appropriate, we expect suppliers and contractors to uphold appropriate standards relating to employment practices, working conditions and human rights.

Recruitment and employment

We are committed to fair and responsible employment practices. We carry out appropriate checks when recruiting employees and engaging contractors, including verification of identity and right to work where required.

We do not tolerate forced labour, exploitation or practices that restrict an individual's freedom or rights.

We encourage colleagues to raise concerns through appropriate internal channels and expect concerns to be treated seriously and handled appropriately.

Supply chain and risk

We consider the nature of our suppliers, the services they provide and the potential risks associated with their supply chains.

Where appropriate, we may seek information or assurances from suppliers regarding their employment practices and approach to modern slavery. We will take proportionate action where concerns are identified.

As HSPS develops, we will continue to strengthen our approach to responsible procurement and supply chain management.

Awareness and responsibility

Preventing modern slavery is a shared responsibility. We expect those working with HSPS to remain alert to potential concerns and to raise them through appropriate channels.

Where training or further guidance is identified as appropriate to a role or area of risk, we will support colleagues in developing the knowledge needed to recognise and respond to concerns.

Monitoring and review

Modern slavery prevention is an ongoing responsibility. We will regularly review the risks relevant to our operations and supply chain and update our approach as HSPS grows.

This statement will be reviewed periodically and updated where necessary to reflect changes in our policies, operations or relevant legal requirements.
